Karachi factory fire triggers major emergency response

A major fire broke out at a factory near Habib Chowrangi in the Site Area of Karachi. The blaze quickly engulfed the second floor of the building, fueled by the presence of highly flammable materials including plastic granules, rubber, chemicals, and PP fiber used in fabric production.

Firefighting efforts involved eight fire tenders and three snorkels to reach the upper levels of the structure. Chief Fire Officer Muhammad Humayun classified the fire as a third-degree blaze, prompting the request for additional fire tenders from across the city. Emergency protocols were activated at several hydrants, including Sakhi Hassan and NIPA Chowrangi, while the Water Corporation dispatched water tankers to the scene.

Rescue 1122 and KMC Fire Brigade teams are managing the operation. Authorities have reported no information regarding individuals being trapped inside the building.
