Nazimabad private hospital faces newborn disappearance allegations

A controversy has erupted at a private hospital in the Nazimabad area of Karachi following allegations that a newborn baby was stolen or disappeared during delivery. The husband of the patient, Rashid Iqbal, claims to possess 38 weeks of ultrasound records confirming his wife's pregnancy, but doctors informed them after surgery that the woman was not pregnant.

In response to the incident, relatives of the family reportedly caused damage to hospital property, prompting police intervention. The hospital's Head of Gynecology, Dr. Anjum Ara Hassan, has denied the allegations, stating that medical reports and examinations prove the patient was not pregnant. Dr. Hassan claimed that the patient had previously presented a fake ultrasound report from another facility and that several entries in the hospital file appeared to be forged.

Police are currently investigating the matter, reviewing CCTV footage from the past several months, and examining medical and laboratory reports to determine the truth behind the conflicting claims.
