Karachi: Mob attacks police checkpoint in Awami Colony

In Karachi’s Awami Colony, an angry mob attacked a police checkpoint following a dispute during a routine motorcycle search. The confrontation escalated when relatives of the motorcycler allegedly stormed the post, assaulting two officers, Constable Amir Khan and Atiq Klodor, and tearing their uniforms.

The mob also reportedly engaged in vandalism and firing at the site. Local reports indicate that the Station House Officer (SHO) of Awami Colony attempted to de-escalate the situation by persuading the mob to leave rather than taking immediate legal action. The injured officers have appealed to higher authorities for justice, questioning the lack of protection provided to personnel on duty.
