Karachi police investigate mysterious deaths of elderly couple from Canada

Police in Karachi have launched an investigation into the mysterious deaths of an elderly couple, Mohammad Yamin and Nafeesa, aged between 65 and 70. The couple, who had recently relocated to Pakistan from Canada, were found dead in their home near Aiwan-e-Be-Aman Park in the North Karachi area.

While initial observations of significant blood loss suggested a possible attack with a sharp object, investigators now believe the couple may have been poisoned. Authorities stated that there were no apparent signs of sharp-force trauma on the bodies. The investigation is currently awaiting post-mortem results to confirm the exact cause of death.

At the time of the incident, renovation work was being conducted at the residence, which involved frequent visits from various laborers. Police are questioning these workers as part of their inquiry. Additionally, officials noted that a portion of the house and a shop were rented out to others, while the couple resided on the ground floor.

Sindh Interior Minister Zia Linjar and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah have both taken notice of the incident, requesting immediate and detailed reports from senior police officials. The Chief Minister has directed authorities to conduct a scientific investigation to determine the motives behind the deaths and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
