Karachi police open high‑level probe into murder of businessman Mir Raza Ali

The Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi, Azad Khan, has created a high‑level investigation team to examine the killing of businessman Mir Raza Ali, whose body was discovered in the Gulistan‑e‑Jauhar area of Karachi. The team is headed by SSP SIU/CIA Samiullah Soomro and includes senior officers Zubair Nazir Ahmed Shaikh and Usman Sadozai, with a mandate to gather all evidence and make daily progress reports.

CCTV footage shows Ali entering his shop and handling a pistol shortly before he vanished. A post‑mortem confirmed a single chest‑shot wound causing haemorrhagic shock, but the firearm itself has not been recovered and no gunshot residue was found on his hands. Investigators note financial stress, a missing weapon, and unanswered questions about why he travelled to the isolated location, keeping the case open and under active investigation.
