Karaman: Woman injured as building door falls onto sidewalk

A 20-year-old Somali national, Nujud Thabit, was injured in Karaman, Turkey, when a PVC fire exit door fell from a building onto her while she was walking on a sidewalk.

The incident occurred on Atatürk Boulevard in the Tahsin Ünal neighborhood. The door, located approximately seven meters (or on the second floor) above the ground, detached from a business center for reasons yet to be determined and struck Thabit's foot. Security footage captured the moment the door fell and the victim collapsed.

Thabit was transported to Karaman Training and Research Hospital, where doctors confirmed a fracture in her right big toe. She underwent surgery and was instructed to keep her foot immobilized for several weeks. Following the incident, Thabit filed a formal police complaint, noting that she decided to pursue legal action after officials failed to visit her in the hospital or offer an apology.
