Karang Taruna conducts community service and youth empowerment initiatives

Karang Taruna organizations in Indonesia are conducting various community engagement and youth empowerment initiatives. In Banten, the provincial Karang Taruna will hold its ‘Bulan Bakti’ (Service Month) on October 10-11 to commemorate its 66th anniversary. The program includes a healthy walk in South Tangerang, free health checks, MSME bazaars, and environmental cleaning actions aimed at fostering social care and economic empowerment.

In the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Karang Taruna is focusing on youth development through the ‘Karang Taruna Goes to School’ program at SRMA 19 Bantul. Led by GKR Hayu, the initiative aims to encourage students to become community drivers and reduce urbanization by empowering young people to create opportunities within their own environments. The program also collaborates with Mata Garuda to provide insights into higher education and scholarship opportunities.
