Karapoonchi Janata Party holds Tiranga rally in Delhi

The Karapoonchi Janata Party (CJP) is conducting the ‘Lera Do Tiranga’ (Let's Hold the National Flag) protest in Delhi and Mumbai. The movement, led by founder Abhijit Dipke, is demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

CJP members allege significant irregularities in the special intensive revision of voter lists, claiming that names of over 130 million voters have been removed. The protests follow the recent arrest of leaders Sourav Das, Ashutosh Ranga, and Ajinkya Shinde, who were placed in five-day judicial custody after entering Jantar Mantar despite restrictions.

Abhijit Dipke stated he is prepared to face arrest for waving the national flag during the rally. He also alleged that he is being monitored by intelligence officials and followed by unidentified vehicles. While the Delhi High Court previously ruled that the rally could not be banned, police have issued guidelines regarding security measures and have urged citizens to avoid protest sites at Connaught Place.
