Karatay Sports Center construction nears completion in Konya
Construction is nearing completion on the Karatay Sports Center in Konya, Turkey. As the highest-budget investment by the Karatay Municipality, the 26,000-square-meter facility is designed to strengthen local sports infrastructure and support 16 different athletic branches.
The center will feature a 1,000-square-meter semi-olympic swimming pool, a FIFA-standard outdoor football field, an indoor sports hall, an archery hall, and facilities for volleyball and basketball. To promote sustainability, the center will include a 400 kW solar power plant on its roof to generate a significant portion of its own energy.
In a separate development, a protocol has been signed between the Spor Toto Organization and local authorities in Niğde to invest in new sports facilities and modern artificial turf pitches. These investments aim to provide children and youth in Niğde with better access to high-quality athletic opportunities.
