Karate athlete Marko Dzjorlev celebrated in Shtip after world championship gold
The municipality of Shtip, local sports officials, and citizens held a ceremony to celebrate 17-year-old Marko Dzjorlev following his historic achievement at the World Karate Championships for cadets, juniors, and U-21 seniors held in Poland.
Dzjorlev secured the gold medal, marking the first time a Macedonian athlete has won a gold medal at a world karate championship. During the event at the Shtip Municipal Council, Dzjorlev reflected on his journey, noting that he began training at the Karate Club Shtip in 2016 at the age of five. He credited his coaches, Sashko and Zharko Arsovski, as well as his family, for their support.
Shtip Mayor Ivan Jordanov congratulated the athlete, stating that this achievement serves as excellent promotion for both the city and the country.
