Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games: Karate medalists crowned

The karate competitions at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games have seen several medalists emerge in the individual kata events. Japan's Maho Ono secured the gold medal in women's individual kata, defeating Hong Kong's Grace in the final with a 5-0 score.

In the same category, Taiwan's Hui Xuan Chien earned a bronze medal after defeating Iran's Fatemeh Sadeghi Dastak. Chien, who previously trained extensively in Okinawa, Japan, and Spain, noted that her bronze was the first medal for the Taiwan delegation at these games.

Hong Kong's Ho Hin Wai also claimed a bronze medal in the men's individual kata after a 5-0 victory over a Malaysian competitor. Additionally, Hong Kong's Shen Xiao Yu won gold in the women's Wushu Changquan event, marking the first gold for the Hong Kong team at the games.
