Karate tournaments held across Japan in August 2026

Multiple karate competitions were held in Japan during mid-August 2026, featuring various age groups and styles.

The 26th All Japan Junior and Children's Karate Championships took place at Keio Arena TOKYO from August 13 to 15. The event included kumite (sparring) competitions for elementary school students, with notable winners including Renji Mori and Kiko Saito in the 6th-grade categories.

Additionally, the 34th Wado-kai Fukui Prefecture Karate Tournament was held at the Fukui Prefectural Budokan. The tournament featured various belt rankings and age divisions, with winners across kata (forms) and kumite categories representing several local dojos.

In international competition, athletes from the Shinkokushinkai Tochigi Branch, training at the Oyama Dojo in Koyama, achieved significant success at the Karate Dream Festival 2026 International Tournament held at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo. Two athletes from the branch secured first place, contributing to a total of 13 participants placing in the top three.
