Karawang police arrest three for illegal LPG subsidy tampering

Police in Karawang have arrested three individuals for the illegal practice of transferring subsidized 3kg LPG gas into non-subsidized 12kg cylinders. The operation took place in the Lemahabang District of Karawang, West Java.

The suspects, identified by the initials F, FR, and HES, utilized modified equipment, including iron pipes and regulator hoses, to perform the transfer. Investigators found that the group would move the contents of approximately five to six 3kg cylinders into a single 12kg cylinder.

Each suspect held a specific role in the operation: one acted as the executor of the gas transfer, another managed financial records and payments, and the third was responsible for sourcing the subsidized gas and selling the final product.
