Karawang police investigate assault of 3-year-old by two minors

Police in Karawang, West Java, are investigating the severe physical assault of a 3-year-old boy by two minors, aged 9 and 13. The incident occurred on October 12 near the Simpang Jomin railway bridge.

The victim sustained serious injuries, including facial and chest trauma, shoulder scratches, and severe lacerations to his genitals caused by sharp objects, specifically scissors and skewers. The victim is currently receiving intensive medical treatment at Siloam Hospital Purwakarta.

Authorities have detained the two suspects, identified by the initials R (9) and S (13), for questioning. The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) is also monitoring the case. Clinical psychologists have noted that such extreme behavior in children often requires deep investigation into environmental factors, such as exposure to violence, parenting patterns, or emotional regulation difficulties.
