Karawang Regency sets schedule for 2026 village head elections

The Karawang Regency government has established the schedule and stages for the 2026 simultaneous village head elections (Pilkades) across 67 villages in 25 districts. The election process is scheduled to take place on November 22, 2026, with the inauguration of elected officials expected in December 2026.

Regent Aep Syaepuloh has allocated a budget of Rp6.7 billion for the implementation of these elections. During a socialization event, the Regent urged candidates to be prepared for both victory and defeat, emphasizing the importance of maintaining social unity and brotherhood despite political differences.

The Karawang Village Community Empowerment Office (DPMD) confirmed that the elections will utilize a digital system at all polling stations. Preparations, including database compilation and technical readiness, have been underway since April. Officials noted that socialization efforts will specifically target elderly voters to ensure they are comfortable using the digital voting technology.
