Karawang villages face audit follow-up issues

The Karawang Regency Inspectorate has reported that 46 villages have yet to address audit findings following inspections of 67 villages. These audits are mandatory for village heads approaching the end of their terms and must be conducted at least six months before their tenure expires.

Taopik Maulana, Secretary of the Karawang Regency Inspectorate, stated that while the inspection process for all 67 villages was completed by August 28, 2026, and audit reports were delivered in early September, only 21 villages have successfully followed up on the findings. The villages that have completed the process include Bojongsari, Kalijati, Gintungkerta, Wargasetra, Lemahmukti, Pulosari, Karangjaya, Kalangsuria, Kertasari, Baturaden, Klari, Tirtasari, and Karangsinom, among others.
