Karcher equipment maintenance and water pump operation
Technical guidance is available regarding the maintenance and operation of water pressure equipment and pumping systems.
For Karcher pressure washers, issues such as loss of pressure, unusual noise, or failure to start often stem from specific mechanical or electrical causes. Domestic models (K2-K4) are designed for intermittent use, and operating them continuously or with improper water sources can accelerate the wear of seals, valves, and electrical components. In contrast, professional HD and HDS series are built for intensive use, though they still require periodic maintenance of heating systems and pump heads to prevent costly repairs.
In water supply installations involving wells or tanks, electronic pressure switches play a critical role in managing pump operation. Unlike simple systems that rely on pressure changes, an electronic pressure switch uses sensors to monitor pipe pressure and command the pump to start when values fall outside a set range. This technology helps prevent issues such as frequent cycling or running without water, though it cannot compensate for undersized pumps or leaking valves.
