Karditsa authorities launch campaign to combat telephone fraud

The Hellenic Police, in collaboration with DEYAK and the Municipality of Karditsa, is launching an information campaign to combat telephone fraud. The initiative specifically targets the prevention of scams targeting citizens, particularly the elderly, by fraudsters posing as employees of utility companies or accountants.

As part of the campaign, approximately 40,000 households will receive informative leaflets alongside their upcoming water bills. These documents will provide concise information regarding the illegal methods used by scammers to extract money from victims. Local officials, including the Mayor of Karditsa and the leadership of DEYAK, have expressed support for the initiative to protect the local community.
