Karditsa court sentences 17-year-old to 8 years for singer's death

The Juvenile Court of Karditsa has sentenced a 17-year-old to eight years in detention for the intentional manslaughter of popular singer Giorgos Tsitoglou. The court found the teenager guilty of manslaughter committed in a calm state of mind, as well as several misdemeanor offenses including illegal possession and use of weapons.

The 17-year-old will serve his sentence in a juvenile detention center until reaching adulthood, after which he will be transferred to a correctional facility to complete the remainder of his term.

In the same proceeding, a 16-year-old co-defendant was acquitted of the charge of conspiracy to commit manslaughter following a proposal from the prosecutor.

The incident occurred in March in the Kaminades area of Karditsa, where Tsitoglou was fatally stabbed following an altercation. Security camera footage played a decisive role in the investigation, capturing two youths fleeing the scene after the attack.
