Kardzhali region holds presidential and vice-presidential elections

Over 270,000 eligible voters in the Kardzhali region are participating in today's presidential and vice-presidential elections. Voting is taking place across 546 electoral sections, including 42 mobile units and five located in medical and public institutions. Of these, 351 sections utilize voting machines, while 195 rely on paper ballots.

Local election officials reported a noticeably low turnout in the early stages of the day. Additionally, local bus stations noted an absence of extra buses arriving from Turkey, which typically supplement regular lines during election periods.

To ensure public order, an operational headquarters has been established involving 520 officials from the Ministry of Interior, the Regional Directorate of Fire Safety, and gendarmerie and border police units. The Regional Election Commission noted that recent corrections to political party lists have significantly reduced the number of required changes to section commission memberships compared to previous elections.
