Kareen Kaur joins F1 Academy test as Haas evaluates 2027 drivers

Singaporean driver Kareen Kaur has been selected for the 2026 F1 Academy Rookie Test and a new preparatory training camp. The 16-year-old, who became Singapore’s first female Formula 4 driver in 2025, will participate in a three-day training camp at Loughborough University in England before moving to the Circuito de Navarra in Spain for the rookie test.

In separate Formula 1 news, Haas has initiated a driver shootout for the 2027 season by organizing a testing programme at the Portimão circuit in Portugal. The team is evaluating several candidates, including McLaren reserve Leonardo Fornaroli, Ferrari prospect Rafael Câmara, and Toyota-backed Haas reserve Ryo Hirakawa. This evaluation comes amid speculation regarding Esteban Ocon’s future with the team, as Haas looks to finalize its lineup alongside expected driver Oliver Bearman.
