Karen Mulder claims she was silenced after 2001 abuse allegations

Dutch supermodel Karen Mulder has broken her silence regarding abuse allegations she made over two decades ago. In a recent interview with Vogue Germany, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel claimed she was “locked away” and “silenced” following a 2001 appearance on the French television program “Tout le monde en parle”.

During that 2001 broadcast, Mulder alleged she had been subjected to rape and exploitation by high-profile figures, including modeling agency executives, politicians, police officers, and European royalty. Following the interview, the segment was cut from the broadcast, and Mulder was admitted to a private psychiatric clinic in Paris for nearly five months.

Mulder stated she was “forced to say I had made it all up” regarding her claims. She described being exposed to “horrible, inhumane things” within the entertainment industry and expressed that she had hoped her fame would ensure her voice was heard. Her recent comments resurface as new allegations of human trafficking and sexual assault involving former industry figures have emerged in 2026.
