Karen Rojo seeks sentence review from Chilean prison

Former Antofagasta Mayor Karen Rojo has issued a letter from the San Joaquín Female Penitentiary in Santiago, stating she has served more than 60% of her sentence. Rojo expressed that her legal defense is seeking a review of her detention to pursue a mixed sentence.

According to the letter, the Antofagasta Court requires a report from Gendarmería de Chile before reviewing her situation. Rojo noted that the deadline for this report is September 20 and expressed hope that the document will be delivered promptly to allow for a judicial hearing.
