Karen Salicath Jamali and Somaya release debut albums

Musician Karen Salicath Jamali has released her debut vocal album, OM Mare Shangri-la, on August 28, 2026. Distributed worldwide by Warner Music Group, the record marks a transition from her previous decade of purely instrumental piano and guitar compositions. The nine-track album explores themes of unity and consciousness, featuring production and mastering by industry professionals including Maria Triana and Gary Gray.

In Montreal, singer Somaya has released her debut album, LAYALI, through Indie Montreal. The project blends alternative R&B and neo-soul with Middle Eastern instrumentation, such as the oud, to reflect her North African heritage. Somaya will perform a release show at La Sala Rossa on September 16.
