Karfamoriah FC defeats Star Sport Academy 4-0 in WACC opener

Karfamoriah FC secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Sierra Leonean side Star Sport Academy during the opening matches of the fifth West Africa Champions Cup (WACC) at Stade M’Balou Mady Glao Diakité.

Souleymane Diawara scored twice for Karfamoriah FC, with additional goals from Amadou Mansaré and Mohamed Lamine Condé. The decisive win provides a strong start for the Guinean club in its debut WACC appearance.

In contrast, Star Sport Academy’s heavy defeat has raised concerns regarding the team's tactical adaptability. This follows the recent appointment of Slovakian Technical Adviser Jozef Vukušič, intended to strengthen the club's technical setup ahead of its upcoming CAF Champions League campaign. Despite the loss, Star Sport Academy is scheduled to face Gambia’s Medina United in the CAF Champions League preliminary round on September 5.
