Karim Aïnouz's Film Rosebush Pruning Set for Brazil Release Oct. 15

MUBI, in partnership with Filmes do Estação, announced that the latest feature by director Karim Aïnouz, Rosebush Pruning, will open in Brazilian cinemas on 15 October 2026. The film will have its Brazilian pre‑premiere at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival from 1 to 11 October before the theatrical rollout.

Rosebush Pruning is a black‑comedy satire about a wealthy, dysfunctional family, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Jamie Bell, Lukas Gage, Elena Anaya, Tracy Letts, Elle Fanning and Pamela Anderson. The screenplay, written by Efthimis Filippou, is loosely inspired by Marco Bellocchio’s novel Fists in the Pocket. The film debuted at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2026, earned a Golden Bear nomination, and holds a 30 % approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
