Karim Benzema responds to journalist's ranking comments

Footballer Karim Benzema has publicly responded to comments made by journalist Yoann Riou regarding his standing among the greatest strikers in history. During the program ‘L’Équipe de Greg’, Riou stated that Benzema does not rank within the top 20, or even the top 30, greatest attackers of all time, noting that football has a history spanning many decades prior to Benzema's career.

Benzema, the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner, reacted to these remarks on Instagram, telling the journalist, ‘Rolololo, so it’s late, go to sleep, tomorrow you get up early!’ and including the hashtag ‘lequipedechèvre’. The former Real Madrid striker, who is currently a free agent following his departure from Al-Hilal, had previously suggested in a video that he belongs on the podium of the best center forwards, placing Brazil's Ronaldo at the top of the list.
