Karimnagar burglars loot two SBI ATMs using gas cutters

Burglars targeted two State Bank of India (SBI) ATMs in Karimnagar, Telangana, during the early hours of Sunday. Using gas cutters to break into the machines, the thieves fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

In the Durshed area, investigators reported that the suspects stole approximately Rs 8 lakh. CCTV footage from the scene showed the burglars allegedly spraying liquid on the cameras to obstruct the view. The footage also indicated the involvement of a woman. The suspects, who were wearing masks, gloves, spectacles, and caps, arrived at the scene in a car around 3:30 a.m.

A second theft occurred in the Thimmapur area under LMD Police Station limits. Police are currently investigating both incidents and have formed special teams to apprehend the suspects. Preliminary findings suggest the offenders used a vehicle registered in Maharashtra, and authorities are reviewing toll plaza footage to track its movement.

This incident follows a pattern of similar crimes in the region, including a May burglary in Mahabubnagar where thieves used gas cutters to steal Rs 2.30 lakh from an SBI ATM.
