Karimun copra exporter PT MMS completes first 26-ton shipment to Malaysia

PT Moro Maju Sejahtera (MMS) has completed its first export of 26 tons of copra, harvested from local farmers in Karimun, to Malaysia. The shipment took place on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Karimun Regent Ing Iskandarsyah personally released the export, expressing appreciation for businesses that expand their reach and supporting economic activities with export potential. The initiative is viewed as a significant milestone in promoting coconut product downstreaming and increasing local community income.

Tri Wahyudi, Head of the Tanjung Balai Karimun Customs Office, noted that the agency will continue to support regional MSMEs through assistance programs focused on industrial assistance and trade facilitation. This success is expected to create opportunities for other local commodities to enter global markets, providing added value for farmers and the regional economy.
