Karin Dom Foundation celebrates 30 years in Varna

The Karin Dom Foundation celebrated its 30th anniversary in Varna, marking three decades of providing therapeutic, social, and educational support for children with special needs and their families. Founded in 1994 by diplomat Ivan Stanchov, the organization has become a national model for early intervention and social integration.

As part of the celebrations, the foundation presented the fourth annual ‘Ivan Stanchov’ awards to eight individuals, organizations, and institutions recognized for their commitment to children's rights and well-being. Feodora Stanchov, daughter of the founder, received the first ‘Ivan Stanchov’ award of 2026 for her contributions to the foundation, including the implementation of the Montessori system.

The ceremony was attended by Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev, who praised the team's professionalism and the resilience of the families served. Karin Dom currently assists approximately 400 children annually through its modern facility, which offers services including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech therapy, and psychological support.
