Karin Smirnoff to complete Millennium trilogy with new novel

Author Karin Smirnoff is completing her Millennium trilogy with a new novel titled ‘Kvinnor som hatar män’ (Women Who Hate Men). The book serves as a thematic successor to Stieg Larsson’s ‘Män som hatar kvinnor’ (Men Who Hate Women).

Smirnoff notes that themes of female revenge against men act as a recurring thread in her work, including her Jana Kippo series. She views fiction as a medium to explore scenarios that cannot be realized in real life, specifically addressing the global issue of physical and sexual violence against women.

In her contemporary reimagining of the Millennium universe, Smirnoff features characters like Mikael Blomkvist, who is depicted approaching retirement and facing health challenges, and Svala, the niece of Lisbeth Salander.
