Karisma Kapoor's broken engagement to Abhishek Bachchan revealed by director Suneel Darshan

Director Suneel Darshan said he was at Karisma Kapoor’s home when her engagement to Abhishek Bachchan was called off. He recalled that the couple’s relationship began before filming the 2001 movie Ek Rishta and that they had decided to marry while planning the 2002 film Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya. The pair, described as a high‑profile match between Amitabh Bachchan’s son and Raj Kapoor’s granddaughter, saw their engagement end abruptly, after which Karisma travelled to Bangkok for New Year celebrations and soon married businessman Sunjay Kapur.

Darshan emphasized that no one should be blamed for the breakup, attributing it to fate and recurring personal differences. He noted that the public and families often pointed fingers, but the relationship’s dynamics were private.
