Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods to curate Sotheby’s art auction

NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns and lifestyle entrepreneur Jordyn Woods will curate a “Contemporary Curated” art auction at Sotheby’s on October 7. The 10-lot sale features works by prominent artists including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Helen Frankenthaler, George Condo, and Ed Ruscha.

Two pieces share the highest estimate of $3.5 million each: Andy Warhol’s 1964 acrylic-and-silkscreen “Flowers” and Roy Lichtenstein’s 1979 work “Green Head.” The Warhol piece is sourced from the collection of Robert A. M. Stern, while the Lichtenstein work arrives ahead of a major retrospective at the Whitney Museum in New York.

Towns and Woods, who are married, stated that the selected works reflect the personal experiences and perspectives that shape their identities as collectors.
