Karl Fredericks reveals PCL injuries sidelined wrestling career
Professional wrestler Karl Fredericks, formerly known as Eddy Thorpe in WWE NXT, has revealed that consecutive PCL injuries sidelined him for an extended period.
Fredericks stated that he first tore his left PCL while under contract with WWE. He noted that the company did not permit him to publicly discuss or share information regarding the injury at that time. Following his release from WWE in May 2025, Fredericks returned to the independent wrestling circuit, but his comeback was short-lived. During his fifth or sixth match in late November 2025, he suffered a tear to his other PCL.
After taking an extended break to recover, Fredericks returned to in-ring action in August 2026. He expressed a desire to prove himself following his recovery and his previous tenure with both WWE and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
