Karl Ravech addresses his departure from ESPN after 33 years

Broadcaster Karl Ravech has addressed his recent layoff from ESPN after a 33-year career with the network. Speaking on ‘Westwood One Sports Night’, the 61-year-old described the experience of seeing his departure become a major media story as ‘surreal.’

Ravech stated he has ‘literally no ill will’ toward the company, expressing gratitude for the opportunities provided during his tenure. He noted that his life and experiences at the network exceeded his initial expectations.

Despite the layoff, Ravech will continue to work occasional MLB broadcasts for ESPN through the remainder of the season and is scheduled to call the Little League World Series. His departure was part of a larger round of layoffs at the network that included several other personalities.
