Karla Fatule to star in Chicago musical at Teatro Nacional

Artist Karla Fatule is set to portray Roxie Hart in the Broadway classic “Chicago,” which is scheduled to arrive at the Teatro Nacional on September 12. The production is led by José Llano and directed by María Castillo.

Fatule, who is known for roles that often project a sweeter image, described the role as a significant physical and mental challenge. She noted that the character of Roxie is sensual, ambitious, and provocative, requiring her to move away from her usual public persona.

The production features a cast of over 50 artists, including Robmariel Olea as Velma Kelly and Javier Grullón as Billy Flynn. The set design, costumes, and choreography for this production were created within the Dominican Republic.
