Karlik Džons leads South Sudan to victory over Nigeria

South Sudan's national basketball team secured an 82-79 victory over Nigeria in a World Cup qualifying match, led by standout performance from playmaker Karlik Džons. Džons recorded 11 points, 13 assists, and nine rebounds, narrowly missing a triple-double.

South Sudan head coach Royal Ivi praised Džons, describing him as one of the best players in the world at his position. Ivi used a metaphor to describe the Partizan Belgrade player's versatility, stating, “He is like a Ferrari, a sports car with many gears. He can go fast, he can go slow, but he is constant and skilled.”

Džons emphasized his role in controlling the game's tempo, noting that while he prefers a fast pace, he knows when to slow down to stabilize the team after poor possessions. He highlighted the importance of managing the rhythm to support his teammates and maintain team confidence.
