Karl‑May Games Celebrates 200,000th Visitor in Bad Segeberg
The open‑air Karl‑May Games in Bad Segeberg welcomed its 200,000th spectator during the 35th performance of “Im Tal des Todes.” The milestone visitor was 10‑year‑old Matilda, accompanied by her mother Stefanie Meyer, who received a prize from the theatre’s managing director, Ute Thienel. The award includes a five‑night family stay at the Bad Segeberg water tower in summer 2027, a scenic flight over Schleswig‑Holstein, a restaurant dinner, and two tourism attractions of the family’s choice.
The event was highlighted by Kalkberg GmbH’s CEO, Ute Thienel, who praised the audience’s enthusiasm and the production team’s work. The Meyer family, originally from Malente in the Holstein Switzerland region, expressed surprise at the spontaneous win, noting they had only booked their trip earlier that week. The prize aims to promote further tourism to the region and celebrate the long‑running Karl‑May festival.
