Karlovac County to launch new public bus service in 2026

A new public bus transport service, titled ‘KaŽu IDE BUS’, is scheduled to launch in Karlovac County on October 1, 2026. The service will consist of 33 bus lines, aiming to provide accessibility to nearly 90% of the county's residents.

The project is contracted for the period between 2026 and 2033, with a total value of nearly 50 million euros. Funding is structured with the state budget covering 75% (approximately 37 million euros), while the remainder is provided at regional and local levels. The City of Ogulin will contribute 90,087.34 euros annually toward the service.

Free transport has been designated for specific groups, including students, persons with disabilities, and individuals over the age of 65. Discounted rates will be available for students and other categories. Officials noted that bus lines and schedules may be adjusted following the launch based on passenger numbers and user feedback.
