Karlovac fire and new water infrastructure in Pitomača

In Croatia, significant local developments have occurred in Karlovac and the Pitomača municipality. A large fire broke out in Karlovac early Monday morning, prompting local authorities to issue urgent warnings to residents. Citizens were advised to close windows, turn off air conditioning units, and stay away from the site as firefighting teams worked to contain the blaze.

Meanwhile, in the Pitomača municipality, the settlement of Križnica has successfully connected to a new public water supply system. The infrastructure project involved constructing over 12 kilometers of pipeline, including a technically challenging section beneath the Drava River. The project includes 100 completed connections, allowing residents to access controlled, healthy water without bearing the initial connection costs.
