Regional police report surge in traffic violations and crime

Various law enforcement agencies across the Balkan region have reported a series of criminal and traffic incidents. In Croatia, police in Karlovac and Virovitica reported multiple accidents involving driving under the influence of alcohol, including a serious injury to a 21-year-old motorcyclist and several drivers being removed from traffic. In Zagreb, authorities announced a week-long enforcement action targeting motorcycles, mopeds, and personal transport devices to improve road safety. Additionally, police in Požega-Slavonia are increasing surveillance of electric scooter users.

In Slovenia, the Domžale Police Station reported a week of diverse activity, including property crimes such as business burglaries, domestic violence, and traffic accidents. In Montenegro, border police conducted a large-scale operation to monitor the legality of foreign citizens' stays, resulting in hundreds of measures including fines and deportation orders. Meanwhile, in Tivat, municipal police issued fines to campers for using public spaces for illegal camping.
