Karlovy Vary hosts Age Group and World Triathlon Championship Series

Karlovy Vary hosted significant triathlon events, including the Age Groups races and the World Triathlon Championship Series. The Age Groups competition featured half-distance races consisting of 750m swimming, 20km cycling, and 5km running.

In the men's race, Jakub Mittner secured victory after David Korous was forced to enter a penalty box for discarding cycling glasses outside the designated area just meters before the finish line. In the women's category, Slovakian Laura Dugovičová recorded the fastest time among the age groups, while Marika Surová was the top Czech competitor.

Additionally, the junior championships saw Sára Dolejšová claim victory in the women's junior category. On the elite level, triathlete Heidi Juránková prepared for the World Triathlon Championship Series, noting the technical difficulty of the course, particularly the climbs at Zámecký vrch.
