Karlovy Vary region faces road disruptions due to bridge and rock repairs

Infrastructure projects in the Karlovy Vary region are causing traffic disruptions. In Mariánské Lázně, the city is repairing a small historical bridge on Mariánskolázeňská Street near the Březová reservoir. The project, costing 6.1 million CZK, requires a detour for vehicles under 18 tons through the village of Březová and is expected to be completed by the end of October.

Additionally, the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) has begun rockfall mitigation work on the I/20 road between Karlovy Vary and Plzeň near Teplička. Two sections, totaling approximately 250 meters, are being treated to prevent unstable rocks from falling onto the roadway. The work involves clearing vegetation and securing the slopes with steel netting and protective fences. This project, contracted to Strix for 5.87 million CZK, is also scheduled for completion by the end of October.
