Karls Erlebnis-Dorf expands with three new German locations

Karls Erlebnis-Dorf, which opened its first urban location in Oberhausen in July 2026, is planning three additional experience villages in Germany. These upcoming projects include sites in Wernigerode (Saxony-Anhalt), Plech (Upper Franconia), and Bispingen (Lüneburg Heath).

The Wernigerode project is slated for a spring 2028 opening, with a pop-up festival currently serving as a precursor to the site. In Plech, the company is investing approximately 30 million euros to develop the former Fränkisches Wunderland site, featuring a Western-themed street and fairy tale forest rides. The Bispingen location, situated in the Gaußscher Bogen industrial area, aims for a 2027 opening and will offer attractions such as a corn barn and strawberry-themed rides.

Since its opening at the Westfield Centro in Oberhausen, the park has seen significant visitor numbers, including 12,000 people on its opening day. While general admission to the parks is free, visitors pay separately for specific rides and attractions. The Oberhausen site has faced challenges with high visitor volume and traffic congestion during peak periods.
