Karlskrona Municipality land acquisition sparks questions

Questions have been raised regarding Karlskrona Municipality's plan to acquire approximately 146,000 square meters of land in Torskors for 62.5 million SEK. The acquisition, involving the property Lampan 2, is intended to provide land for the Swedish Police Authority and the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.

Critics have expressed concern over the terms of the deal, noting that the private company selling the land is reportedly set to receive 85 percent of any future net profit when the municipality subsequently conducts business with the state. This has led to calls for greater transparency regarding the economic benefits for local taxpayers.
