Karlsruhe allotment garden project faces delays

In Karlsruhe, the development of an allotment garden project on Stuttgarter Straße has faced significant delays. Despite foundations, paths, and a playground being completed since autumn 2025, approximately 200 garden plots remain unassigned as applicants await approval from the general lessee.

The city administration has previously provided varying timelines for completion, with earlier estimates suggesting readiness by summer 2024 or autumn 2025. Currently, the city aims to have the plots ready for the 2027 gardening season. The delay has left the site overgrown with weeds and has caused frustration among local residents and prospective tenants.
