Karlsruhe gastronomy gains attention through awards and TV

The culinary and hospitality scene in Karlsruhe is receiving significant attention through both industry awards and television coverage.

The bar The Door has been nominated for ‘Bar Team of the Year’ in the 2027 Falstaff Bar and Spirits Guide. The establishment faces competition from notable venues in Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden, and Frankfurt. Operators Lennart Geist and Claudia Álamo Masanet expressed that the nomination serves as recognition for their team's daily dedication.

Additionally, the Kabel 1 television show ‘Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal,’ hosted by chef Christian Henze, is featuring five Karlsruhe-based restaurants. The competition, which airs from September 21 to September 25, includes Zauberkessel, Cilantro Del Arte, Ristorante Vespucci, Five Senses, and The Last Meal BBQ. Participants are judged on their three-course menus, service, and value for money, with the winner receiving a 3,000 euro prize and the ‘Golden Plate’ trophy.
