Karlsruhe parking spaces closed for light rail construction

In Karlsruhe, several rows of parking spaces on Kolbinger and Elbinger Streets have been closed since July 22. Local residents have expressed frustration over the lack of parking, particularly in the evenings.

The Karlsruhe Transport Association (KVV) stated that the parking bans are necessary for the fundamental renewal of the light rail tracks and the barrier-free expansion of stops. The closed spaces are intended to serve as storage areas for construction materials due to limited space in the surrounding area. These restrictions are expected to remain in place until approximately November 23, though they may be temporarily lifted if the areas are not being actively used.
