Karlsruhe/Baden‑Baden Airport to launch Berlin route with VINI in 2026
After a seven‑year hiatus, Karlsruhe/Baden‑Baden Airport will re‑establish a direct connection to the Berlin capital region. VINI plans a soft‑start of flights in October and November 2026 to the Schönhagen airfield south of Berlin, with a private shuttle included in the ticket that transports passengers to Berlin‑Mitte. The service will initially operate on Mondays and Fridays using small regional aircraft – either a 19‑seat Dornier 228 or a 32‑seat Dornier 328 – matching capacity to expected demand.
The airline model is demand‑driven: flights will be activated only when a viable passenger volume is reached, with a gradual expansion slated from 2027. The new route follows the airport’s recent growth, having handled roughly 2.27 million passengers in 2025, and aims to provide a flexible, economically sustainable regional link to Germany’s capital.
