Karlsruher SC's Preseason Emphasis on Throw‑Ins and Friendly Victory

Karlsruher SC (KSC) played its second preseason friendly of the season against Kickers Offenbach (OFC). After falling behind 0‑1, KSC turned the match around with goals from Becker (50') and a penalty converted by Staude (86'), securing a 2‑1 win.

New head coach Maximilian Senft has introduced an unconventional training focus, dedicating early sessions to the execution of throw‑ins. Assistant Eduard Buxmann, a specialist in this area, works with players such as defender Christoph Kobald and forward Shio Fukuda, who have shown the longest and most accurate throws in drills. Senft explained that mastering set‑piece situations like throw‑ins can create numerical advantages and open space, and that the team will shift attention to pressing after covering the basics in the first three weeks of preparation.
